Not bad, the Sharks continue their pre-season romp by steam-rolliong the Ducks 5-1. As you can read below, our tenatious teal titans are hungry, and are taking no prisoners. Doug Wilson said he didn't like last years sluggisg start to the season. It appears as if the team has taken his words to heart.
Dan Rosen and E.J. Hradek, on-line anylists for NHL.com believe the Western Conference will be between the Blackhawk and the Sharks, with the Blackhawks winning and going on to beat the Penguins for the Cup. I say they have it 50% right. This is San Jose's year.
Have any of you been playing attention to Brendan Shanahan's action on work as NHLs Senior Vice President of Play Safety? He and the NHLPA Mathieu Schneider show a video of each violation and explain what the violation is and the subsequent actions by the NHL to the involved player as to fines and suspensions. I say right on! Keep the game play legal and punish those who are out to injure others. The new Player Safety section has implemented a second "war Room" in New York to watch for player violations.
Stay safe out there and Go Sharks!!

The Ducks are winless in their first three games of the pre-season.
Anaheim goalie Dan Ellis was busy in the first two periods as San Jose outshot the Ducks 36-7. He was replaced at the start of the third by Jeff Deslauriers.
The Sharks finished the night outshooting Anaheim 49-14.
San Jose also got goals from Douglas Murray, Torrey Mitchell and Andrew Murray.
Ryan Getzlaf scored a power-play goal for Anaheim. The Sharks are 2-0 in the pre-season.
The Ducks drew an unusual delay of game penalty at the start of the second period when they arrived late to the ice from the locker room and weren't prepared to start the period.
Andrew Murray's power-play goal at 18:15 of the third period made the score 5-1.
Mitchell's goal came on a power play at 17:25 of the second period, giving San Jose a 4-1 lead. Anaheim made it 3-1 when Getzlaf scored 10 seconds into a power play at 14:56 of the second. Douglas Murray made it 3-0 at 8:24 of the second when he took advantage of Joe Thornton's screen of Ellis.
San Jose jumped out to a 2-0 lead late in the first period when Irwin and Boyle scored.
Irwin's score came on a power play at 15:21. The rookie defenceman was playing in his first NHL pre-season game. Boyle took a pass from Thornton and was quick to get set up and score with 1.4 seconds left in the period.
Notes: Sharks goalie Antti Niemi has yet to skate with the team after having a cyst removed last week. ... Last season's backup goalie, Antero Niittymaki, will be out 12 weeks after undergoing hip surgery earlier in the week.
