San Jose Sharks Update - a turn-around for our Team!!

The San Jose Sharks are suddenly resembling the team of the season beginnings, winning seven of eight (losing the 8th game in a shoot-out loss to the Dallas Stars). That's 15 out of 16 points. Who couldn't be happy at that? Well, the three players traded prior to the April third deadline for one (or three, so to speak).

Here is the list of trades and acquisitions since January, as listed by The Hockey News website:

Ryane Clowe's first game witht he New York Rangers was incredible. He scored two goals and one assist. Way to go, Ryane! I'll be watching the games to see how you do, just as I do with any Sharks alumni playing on other teams. Sharks players always have a special place in my heart. I wish all of you the best and thank you for the great action and memories.

The team's streak started on March 25th, with a 5-3 win over the Ducks in Anaheim. Next, the Sharks came home for spell, where they faced the Ducks on the 27th: this time shutting the waterfowl 4-0. The following night, Detroit challenged the Sharks, hoping to take advantage of a team supposedly weary from a road stint and the second of back-to-back games. The Sharks came out strong, again beating the opposition AND getting a second shut-out 2-0 (in consecutive nights, no less).

On March 30th, San Jose faces the Coyotes, new Shark Raffi Torres former team, beating Phoenix 3-2. On April 1, the Canucks flew in to try and break the winning streak. They left after losing 3-2. The Wild hoped to be spoilers on April 3rd, only to turn tail, leaving after a 4-2 loss. The Calgary Flames were full of hot air, but the Sharks drowned them out with a 2-1 win on April 5th.

It took the Dallas Stars on April 7th, the final home game at the tank to break the cycle. San Jose lost in a shoot out to Dallas, 4-5. The next game is on Tuesday, April 9th at Columbus.

San Jose (47 points) as of Sunday, April 7th, holds fifth place in the Western Conference overall and third in the Pacific, one point below Los Angeles (48).
