Meet the newest member of the family

We have a new dog. On November 13th, we picked up Coco, a five month old chocolate brush-coat Chinese Shar-Pei puppy. Coco is our third Shar-Pei. When we met the breeders, Coco let the car and walked up to me, put her paws on my chest and licked my cheek. Her breeder said she never took to anyone new so fast before.

She is the sweetest dog, ever ready to give kisses. Coco is friendly and playful. If she were a boy, I'd have renamed her 'Tigger' because she bounces. Really. Her walk is bouncing and jumping. I forgot how energetic a puppy cam be. When she puckers out, she collapses and becomes a pile of wrinkles. She is a typical Shar-Pei. She snores and snorts constantly, and when she drinks, she leaves a drool trail EVERYWHERE.

The day after we brought her home it snowed. Coco loves the white stuff. I watched her run around the yard chasing snowflakes.

Our cat, Dexter, is not very happy with our new companion. He is gradually becoming adjusted to having a dog in the house. Dexter still rules the roost, though. I have no doubt they will become good friends.

Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas.

Stay safe out there!
